LegacyLink
Churches & ministries

Your congregation is bigger than the people in the room.

Members move suburb, move city, move country — and quietly fall off the roll. LegacyLink keeps the whole community reachable on WhatsApp, gives every member a reason to stay involved, and makes giving transparent enough that people trust it.

The equivalence: Your alumni are your congregation and giving base — everyone who has ever called your church home, including the families who have moved away.

What usually goes wrong

The roll is stale

Numbers change, families move, and nobody has the time to phone 800 people to find out who is still with you.

Email is ignored

Newsletters land in the promotions tab. WhatsApp is opened within minutes — in South Africa it reaches around 94% of adults.

Giving feels opaque

People give more when they can see exactly what their contribution funded. Most churches have no easy way to show it.

How congregations use LegacyLink

Pastoral WhatsApp broadcasts

Segment by campus, small group, ministry or life stage. Send service reminders, prayer requests and pastoral notes, and see who responded.

Small-group and mentorship matching

The same matching engine that pairs alumni mentors pairs new members with a small group, a discipleship partner or a ministry team.

Events and RSVPs

Conferences, camps, weddings, funerals, outreach days — invitations, ticketing, waitlists and attendance in one place.

Transparent giving and campaigns

Run building funds and outreach campaigns with a visible progress bar and a ring-fenced portion shown on every receipt.

A member directory that respects privacy

Skills, businesses and availability to serve — each field controlled by the member, with consent logged.

Automated welcome journeys

Every new visitor gets a structured 6-week welcome sequence instead of a once-off handshake.

What you should expect

  • A verified, reachable contact list instead of a stale roll
  • Higher recurring giving from members who have moved away
  • Small groups filled without a sign-up table in the foyer
  • Attendance and engagement data your leadership can actually act on
  • POPIA / GDPR-compliant consent and data handling
  • No capex — the revenue-share model costs the ministry nothing upfront
Every ministry already has an alumni network. It is just called something else, and nobody is looking after it.

Questions we get asked

Is this appropriate for a church, or is it a school product wearing a hat?
The underlying engine — verified contacts, WhatsApp broadcasts, segmentation, events, matching, giving — is identical. What changes is the vocabulary, the default journeys and the reporting. Nothing in your members' experience mentions schools or alumni.
Can we run multiple campuses or satellite congregations?
Yes. Each campus gets its own branded space and its own data isolation, with a group-level view for leadership across all campuses.
Do members have to pay?
Only on the revenue-share model, and only if they choose a paid membership tier. Most ministries take the flat annual licence instead so that giving stays purely voluntary.
How is member data protected?
Row-level tenant isolation, encryption at rest, consent logging and self-service export. We operate under POPIA in South Africa and GDPR / UK-GDPR internationally.
